About Us

The Moose Jaw Baseball Association was officially formed in the winter of 2008. Up until that time, any Moose Jaw teams that registered with the Saskachewan Baseball Association were independant of all other SBA teams in the city. The Midget AAA Canucks and the Midget AAA Cardinals ran successful programs for many years.

2005 -  The Avonlea-Moose Jaw (AMJ) Tigers were formed as a group of parents and players chose to "break away" from  Moose Jaw Little League. Made up of Pee Wee aged players from Moose Jaw and Avonlea, the Tigers entered several SBA Tournaments and Provincials as a Pee Wee AAA Team and in 2006 joined the Baseball Regina Bantam AAA league. For the first time in many years, a Moose Jaw team competed in the SBA at age groups other than Midget.

2007 - The Pee Wee AAA Mets and the Bantam AA Mallards were formed to give players the option to play competitive baseball for more than a few weeks per season. Both the Mets and the Mallards entered into Baseball Regina leagues.

2008 -  At the request of the Saskatchewan Baseball Association, a steering comittee was formed to create a blueprint for a new association that would overseee all Moose Jaw teams registering with the SBA. The comittee consisted of Don Morrison, Gil Griffin, Mike Douglas, and Greg Reidy.

A new constitution and a multi-year plan for the operation of the association was passed at the inaugural AGM. The first executive board consisted of Mike Douglas - President, Angus McIntosh Vice - President, Mary Anne Mann - Secretary

The AMJ Tigers won the Bantam AAA Provincial Championship and went on to a fourth place finish at the Bantam Nationals that were held in Mascouche, Quebec

2009 -Following an extensive evaluation process  the two Midget AAA teams, for competitive purposes, were "merged" into one AAA team , the Cardinals, and one AA team, the Canucks.

The Bantam AA Mallards moved to AAA, and with a solid core of former Tigers and Mallards, won the Bantam AAA Provincial Championship and went on to an 8th place finish at Nationals in Vaughan, Ontario.
